Hi,

Congratulations to OzPunt and Maryland Footballs Brad Craddock for being named as a finalist for the Lou Groza Award.  The Lou Groza award is presented to the best College Kicker in the Nation.

Brad is one of 3 Finalists, and according to many is a strong chance to win the award which will be announced on Thursday, December the 11th in Florida.  A panel of over 300 experts selects the top three finalists for the award in late November. That same group then selects the national winner in December.

The voting panel of 300 consist of Division 1 head coaches, sports writers and sportscasters from across the county, conference representatives, professional kickers and previous winners.  The Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award has become the most prestigious college football award for kickers.

The link below will tell you more about the 3 finalists and more importantly about the wonderful season Brad has had in 2014.

No Australian has ever been a finalist for this award, so Brad is in uncharted waters.  Whether the award is presented to Brad or not, Brad has been a great representative to all Australians who have a dream to play College Football.

Enjoy your moment Brad, it is well deserved.

Football Season Kick Offs

Hi,

The football season in the US has kicked off at the College Level, and the first week of games saw some great Kicking and Punting.

While many of the boys will be putting on their boots and pulling up their socks for their second and third seasons, a few hard working men will be playing their first season, an extra special best of luck to you all.

With their goals set for the season on what they want to achieve, it is good to see that some are already breaking records and now have some more goals to set.

In Australia it is that time of year when we swing into our training camps, with the weather getting better every weekend, it is time to start thinking about attending a training camp.

Last weekend saw our Melbourne camp produce some talented Punters who I have no doubt will be making the move to a College football team if they can continue where they left off after the weekend.

Over summer we will again see American College Coaches visit Australia to search for their next teams Punter or Kicker, hopefully this will again see some of our Punters and Kickers get scouted and make the move to the US.

With still a lot of camps coming up over the next few months, it is a great time to come along and have a kick.  As we always say at OzPunt, it is never to late or too early to give it a go, and see whether this is something for you.
